Our Leaders

Our minister is Daniel D. Scott, B.A., M.C.S., M.Div., D.Min.

Services of Ordination and Induction were held at St. John’s Presbyterian Church for Dr. Scott in the afternoon of February 25th, 1996. St. John’s shares with Tyndale University College in Toronto the gifts inherent in Dr. Scott; he is the Academic Dean of that institution.

Dr. Scott is married. He and his wife Kelly, have three children… Jonathan, Danielle and Taylor.

Dr. Scott moderates the Session at its regular meetings and also attends regular meetings of the Oak Ridges Presbytery, the body that oversees all congregations in this area of Ontario. Our Minister’s main responsibilities include preparing for and conducting the Sunday worship services, pastoral care, counselling, marriages and funerals, and church wide programming. He also represents St. John’s on a variety of local and community based groups.

As the executive of the presbytery, the minister is responsible for the conduct and content of public worship and for the supply of the pulpit (book of forms 111)
